could stop the Portuguese Water Dog to reach our
hearts.

Many have tried to describe the PWDs, but no

one has done it more eloquently than

Janet Danford-Comer

EBB TIDE's

"I was impressed by their beauty, yet rugged

appearance, their alert and stoic nature, their

friendly, happy and sometimes very clownish

behavior, intelligence and their overall joy for  life."

YES, that is the true PWD, the real survivor that

The Portuguese Water Dog holds his tail high and proud like a flag. The tail of the Portuguese Water Dog is his most important feature - his symbol - his Ex Libris. The tail of the Portuguese Water Dog is:
A When attentive, the tail is held up in a circle, not reaching beyond the line of the kidneys.
B When relaxed, the tail is held straight down, not reaching beyond the hock.
C The tail is thick at the base and thinning towards the end.
D The tail is of medium insertion.

Lećo Algarbiorium should be the reference to all Portuguese Water Dog breeders, judges and breed clubs who seem to have forgotten the standard.

 CHEAP
CHEAPER
THE CHEAPEST

Recently, cheap PWD have been obtained, by 'certain' American & European 'breeders' from EAST EUROPE

Such cheap PWD, mated with 'local' stocks were send back to Europe (including Portugal) which when mated with 'local' stock are then re-exported to the U.S.A., to Australia... and so on!
HOW DANGEROUS CAN IT BE?

Again, as in the early days, when cheap PWD were exported from Portugal (and I do not mean Conchita's PWDs) to the U.S.A., they have caused many problems, problems still to be found today!

WILL THEY EVER LEARN?
