Once upon a time...

... in the mists of time...

In an ancient land called Lusitanea – there lived a special breed of shaggy water loving dogs
CANIS AQUATICUS

They hunted, they fished, they retrieved, they played, they were healthy, they were happy...
WATER DOGS

Across the seas they traveled, and  became the famous and popular
PORTUGUESE WATER DOGS

But, alas, they fell into the hands of greedy unscuprulous knaves.  They were malbred, inbred and overbred.

Mongrelised & manipulated.

The regal line soon began to deterioriate.  The great LEAO was forgotten, tradition and common sense abandoned.  PWDs were defamed throughout the land as unsound and unhealthy.  The populace blamed dogs instead of human foolishness.  The more foolish whispered
'SMALL GENE POOL',
thinking PWDs had been ruined by swimming in cramped quarters.

The struggle continues to this day.  Between those who love fashion accessories

and those who love dogs. A REAL SURVIVOR

Happy & healthy PWD will go on making history ... the rest will be forgotten,
