...When so many breeders choose to turn away from the very science that has given us clear answers on how to avoid genetic diseases, choosing rather to play Russian Roulette with a dog's future health.

Further, health is not the only issue challenging PWDs.  Judges and breeders who advocate changing the centuries-old traits which define this unique breed, are not always "improving the breed" - the often forgotten stated purpose of the show ring.  Judges who do not fully understand the breed standard put us in danger of making the same mistakes we see in other breeds damaged by show.
